Hi, I’m Ben.
My love for a variety of work emerges from a diverse background: I have an extensive background in business, co-founding a successful social enterprise in 2011 following years of work in sales, operations and marketing. My primary work is at UBC as a Project Manager.
My life shifted greatly when I began a meditative practice in 2013, which took me to an immersive 7-month facilitation training program in Uruguay, living and practicing at a centre, meditating 12+ hours per day. This practice transformed my business and leadership approach, and shifted my focus in life. I realized a deep desire to spend less time solving problems with my head and more time working with my hands, breath and movement to help people reconnect with their physical experience and release stress.
I trained in bodywork therapy at the Vancouver School of Healing Arts, a 700-hour program known worldwide for equipping students with incredible bodywork skills. For the past 2 years, I've put my hands to work at Hälsa and my mind to work at UBC, recently finishing a BA in Psychology in addition to my work there.
My life now reflects my passions of fitness, movement and connection to the human experience, while continually seeking a deeper understanding of how we can transform our world to a happier, more just and equitable place.

I'm trained as a Certified Bodywork Therapist, including integration of techniques:
Swedish massage
Deep-tissue/fascial work
Shiatsu
Trager joint-release
Indian head massage
Sports massage
Aromatherapy, Hydrotherapy and more.
